The Eden clubs in the Kent: the first step
posted on Dimanche 21 mars 2010700 schoolboys of the Pas-de-Calais had the opportunity to discover on Tuesday 16th and Thursday 18th June, thanks to their Eden club, the natural areas in the Kent, in the southern part of England.
All the schoolboys belonging to the Eden clubs went aboard to England, in order to discover the natural areas in the Kent. The teenagers met up with 120 young English schoolboys from the Kent eco-schools.
On the agenda: Chatting and exchange between the French and English pupils about everyone’s project to promote sustainable development in the morning and tour of the three Kent natural areas in the afternoon. The children had the chance to observe various birds (Peregrine Falcons, Northern Fulmars, Passerines, House Martins etc.), and wonderful orchids (Bee Orchids, Fly Orchids, etc.), a group even encountered an Adder!
Beyond the environmental action, the day was also a cultural success. No sooner were they arrived than the French and English schoolboys met up: friendships are born! Pictures, email address exchanges etc.
